This is a view of the nearby Arivaca Cienega. It is a wonderful place to walk and explore in any season. There is a two mile loop trail with a boardwalk through the marshy areas. The birding is spectacular! |

Arivaca Lake is another
great local destination. It is popular for fishing, birding, kayaking and
hiking year-round. It attracts swimmers in the summertime! The turnoff for
the lake is about 5 miles out the Ruby Road from Arivaca.

If you continue on the Ruby Road, you'll see the turn for the ghost town of Ruby. Honk your horn when you arrive at the gate, and Sundog, the caretaker, will give you a tour for a modest fee.
